Of tangential interest to anyone who thought this post regarding 250 mpg hybrid cars was interesting, Autoblog has this story about a 300 horsepower electric/diesel hybrid supercar that does 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and gets 50 mpg.
The best part of the story - this car was built by 6 West Philadelphia High School students.
I don't know about you but I'm impressed.

Very impressive. As a driver of an American car that hopes to sputter to 24 miles a gallon. I usually can be found driving on the Blueridge Parkway at a less than respectable 35 mph.
So far this has kept me out of the court system for excessive speed. One of our local police officers has told me, "I couldn't tell if you stopped at the stop sign, you always seemed stopped to me."
I enjoy your blog and will take heart in your suggestion of not appearing wounded in court. I have an aversion to getting shot by judges. And if I have to appear in court will change my dress to cameo, now that I know what judges are packing under their robes.
